i ❤︎ the family stone
Okay, so I broke my number one rule a few nights ago…no holiday movies before November 1st and I watched The Family Stone. Let me tell you, I was so inspired I ended up watching it three times.
The cozy house is amazing, but what really got me was the feeling. There’s just something special about the holiday season, an energy in the air that’s all about connection (a core value of mine). Everyone is hosting, houses are decorated, and people are looking for any reason to get together. I just love it.
It took me right back to Thanksgivings at our family farm with my big Walsh family. With everyone under one roof, the ladies would be cooking, guys hunting pheasant, and us kids running wild. My cousin Elise and I were the youngest, and the fun we had was our little secret. It’s that same feeling I get when I remember my mom packing our holidays with fun adventures (more on that later).
And that’s what the house in the movie feels like, it’s built from memories, not just things from a store. It's a look that comes from layers of life: treasures from trips, family heirlooms, and unique antique finds. It's a home that's truly lived-in, built on maximalist memories.
So get on Facebook Marketplace and start collecting your own treasures. More importantly, invite your people over and start making the memories that matter. If you know, you know.
some wonderful memories from “the farm”
I am adding more photos to this gallery as they are sent to me!
